About
Sanda is a Chinese kickboxing combat sport system originally developed by the Chinese Military based upon the practices and studies of traditional Kung Fu systems. Sanda takes heavy influence from western Boxing combined with kicks from styles like Kung Fu, Karate, and Tae Kwon Do and throws and takedowns from Shuai Jiao "Chinese Wrestling". A unique feature differentiating Sanda from other combat sports is that bouts are normally held on an elevated platform called Leitai (擂臺). Along with Sanda rules from the International Wushu Federation, our students also cross train and spar under rule sets from the International Kickboxing Rules, Muay Thai, and MMA. Our Sanda classes at Blue Dragon Martial Arts fits the needs of the aspiring fighter, as well as the health oriented students. Our Sanda program can help maintain fitness, to lose weight or gain muscle, develop new or enhance fighting techniques. Competition training is also a great opportunity available to students who are interested in gaining amateur fight experience in the ring.
